This Fastback came to us looking pretty rough - been sitting in a garage since the early 90s. Owner's dad bought it new, and the family wanted to see it shine again.
We stripped it down to bare metal, replaced both floor pans, quarter panels, and the trunk floor. Found the original drivetrain was still solid though, so we rebuilt that 289 V8 to factory specs. Owner wanted it authentic, so we tracked down correct date-coded parts wherever we could.
Paint is Highland Green with a hint of metallic - not factory but the owner saw it in a dream or something. Turned out beautiful. Interior's all new black vinyl with Pony seats we had re-covered by a specialist in California.

Customer wanted modern reliability with classic looks. Can't blame 'em - these LS motors are bulletproof and make power for days. We pulled the original straight-six from this '72 Nova and dropped in a crate LS3 putting out 430hp.
Biggest challenge was getting everything to fit right. Had to fabricate custom motor mounts, sort out the exhaust routing, and adapt the transmission tunnel for the T-56 six-speed. Wiring harness got simplified too - nobody needs half the sensors GM throws at these things.
Kept the bay looking period-correct with painted valve covers and hid most of the modern stuff. You wouldn't know it's not original unless you pop the hood and see that LS valley. Dyno'd at 387 to the wheels, and she pulls like a freight train.
Paint jobs like this are why I got into this business. Owner wanted something that'd stop people in their tracks, and candy apple red over a gold base does exactly that. Depending on the angle and light, it shifts from deep burgundy to bright red.
Process took about three weeks start to finish. Stripped the old paint completely, fixed some minor dings, then laid down the foundation. Gold base coat first, then six coats of candy red with proper flash time between each. Clear coat got wet-sanded three times before final buffing.
The depth you get with candy is unreal - looks like you could stick your hand into it. It's old-school technique meets modern materials, and when the sun hits it right, forget about it.
Real deal SS396 that'd been sitting in a barn outside Chilliwack for 30 years. Mice had made it home, surface rust everywhere, but the bones were solid. These A-bodies are tough as nails.
Spent months just cleaning and assessing. Original Cowl Induction hood was toast, but we found a NOS replacement through our network. Engine was seized but turned out to be the numbers-matching 396. Sent that out for a full rebuild - bored .030 over, new cam, the works.
Owner wanted it driver-quality, not trailer queen, so we focused on making it reliable and fun. Upgraded to power disc brakes, added a modern stereo hidden behind the original-look radio face. It's meant to be driven, and man does it get driven now.
This is the stuff people don't see in the finished product, but it's where the real craftsmanship happens. Floor pans on these old cars rust out first - especially here in BC with all the moisture.
We cut out all the rot, treated what was left, and welded in new metal. Sometimes you can use reproduction panels, but often you're hand-forming patches to match the original contours. Takes patience and a steady hand, but when it's done right, it'll outlast the original.
Every weld gets ground smooth and sealed. This is foundation work - if it ain't solid here, nothing else matters.
Owner loved his '68 Firebird but hated how it drove. Old leaf springs and worn bushings made it wallow around corners like a boat. We convinced him to go full pro-touring with the suspension.
Out back, we ditched the leafs for a four-link setup with coilovers. Front got tubular A-arms, bigger sway bar, and adjustable coilovers. Add in a modern rack and pinion steering conversion and disc brakes all around, and suddenly this thing handles.
It's still a muscle car - you feel the road - but now it actually goes where you point it. Customer said it's like driving a completely different car, which was kinda the whole point.
C3 Vettes with their fiberglass bodies present unique challenges. You can't just treat 'em like steel. This one had been repainted badly at least twice - orange peel you could see from across the street.
Stripped it down to gel coat, found some stress cracks that needed repair. Once the body was straight, we laid down this gorgeous Nassau Blue metallic. Color shifts from deep navy to bright blue depending on the sun.
Three stage paint - base, metallic, then clear with UV protection. Corvettes live outside usually, so we made sure this finish would last. Chrome bumpers got re-done too. Whole car looks showroom fresh again.
